Description
In September 2022, Yemilab, a new underground laboratory in Korea, was completed in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province. Located 1,000 meters below ground, it offers an exclusive experimental area of 3,000 m². Currently, preparations are underway for the AMoRE-II experiment, which seeks to explore neutrinoless double beta decay, and for the COSINE-100 upgrade (COSINE-100U), a direct dark matter detection experiment. Since 2022, Yemilab’s infrastructure has been enhanced to support rare event search experiments. In this presentation, I will discuss the physics achievements of the AMoRE and COSINE-100 experiments conducted at the Yangyang Underground Laboratory and provide an update on the current progress of Yemilab’s installation and experimental setup.
