양성자과학연구단은 2013년부터 100 MeV 양성자가속기 빔을 제공하고 있으며 낮은 에너지의 이온빔 장치 시설도 함께 운영하고 있다. 이번 발표에서는 이러한 양성자 과학연구단의 운영현황과 100 MeV 양성자가속기를 주로 이용하는 연구분야, 예를 들면 방사선 영향평가, 의료용 동위원소 등에 대한 소개와 이온빔 장치를 활용하는 연구, 예를 들면 고효율 전무기 광전소자 구현과, 양자 소재 제작을 위한 연구 등에 대한 소개를 한다. 또한 양성자가속기의 성능을 확장하기 위한 계획과 중장기 성능향상 추진계획에 대한 소개를 한다.
